I will show how to make a model body on staple. Classic technology: Frames (ribs) and sheathing with slats. I make a scheme of the ribs and numbering along the axis line of the hull.

I reduce the size of the frames by 2-3 mm because of the sheathing. I'm making a Base on the footboard. I extend all the ribs to the base to get an even keel and the correct curve of the deck. If the deck curvature (beams) is not shown on the drawing, it is made with a height of 0.025 (1/40) of the greatest width of the deck.

I'm going to miss a few ribs on purpose. Without them, the shape will not change or the structure will be weakened.

Plus I'll save myself some labor and plywood. I leave 10 mm of the ribs, the rest will be cut to lighten it and become a "trough".

At the front and back ends I will also make 1/2 ribs. So I will need smaller logs.

I assembled the ribs on plywood 50 x 60 cm.

Stapel

I stick the drawing on the board (stapled). I will not dwell on cutting the ribs, everything is clear there. It took me two days. On the basis of the already cut ribs, I nail a slat, in this case 12x15 mm - I found one ready. Through this slat, I nail the rib to the rung.

The slats I will use are 2x12 and 5x12 mm white beech (cer). These were ready at my friend the carpenter, one of the sponsors for wood. I was afraid that they would be quite hard like ordinary beech, but it turned out that they are much softer than it and a little harder than linden.
